Aracaju

A planned city founded in 1855 to be the new capital of Sergipe, in replacement of the old São Cristóvão. Unlike the other Brazillian capitals that were planned and built in the 19th century, Aracaju is known throught the country for its modern look, several festivals, and pre-carnival feast.

Located in the northeast coast of the country, Aracaju has its place on the nation’s tourism route with attractions that include a revitalized shoreline and a refined architecture. The gastronomy is also a differential with dishes like caruru, tapioca and the famous butter in bottle.
