Trancoso is a quiet and preserved village distant distant 725km south of Salvador and 26km from Porto Seguro. Located in the region called the Discovery Coast, on the southern coast of Bahia, was founded at the beginning of Portuguese colonization by the Jesuits. A few years ago it stopped being just a rustic village to become one of the most charming tourist destinations in the country.
The Square (Quadrado) is the heart of the village formed by colorful houses, built in a straight line, the São João Batista church, restaurants and shops under the shade of leafy trees. Trancoso enchants visitors from all around the world with its beaches, clear warm waters, cliffs, palm trees, mangroves, rivers and history.
